Advocacy
We're proud to stand with Consumer Reports in supporting Senator Becker's SB 361 to improve the registration and transparency requirements of the California Delete Act. Currently data brokers are required to disclose on their registration documents with the California Privacy Protection Agency whether they collect certain kinds of personal information, including reproductive health data, the personal information of minors, or precise geolocation data. SB 361 would additionally require registering brokers make clear on their documentation whether and the extent to which they collect additional categories of sensitive personal information, including account login credentials, government-issued identification numbers, citizenship and immigration status, union membership, sexual orientation, and biometric data.
