A Letter from The Board: Changes in Leadership

Dear friends and colleagues,

In September 2017, Privacy Rights Clearinghouse celebrated a significant milestone: 25 years of engaging, educating and empowering individuals to protect their privacy. This would not have been possible without the dedication of our founder and Executive Director, Beth Givens. Beth’s vision to create comprehensive consumer education resourc

es coupled with her tireless drive in the fight for strong privacy protections has been an inspiration to individuals both within the organization and nationwide.

After 25 years as a leader in the privacy community, Beth has decided that it is time to step back and enjoy the fruits of her labor, announcing her retirement as of April 16. Although retiring from PRC’s day-to-day work, she is not going away. Beth will become our Executive Director Emeritus and remain a source of knowledge and insight to all of us, including our incoming Executive Director, Meghan Land.

We are very excited to welcome Meghan as our next Executive Director. She has devoted her professional life to the privacy arena and, since 2011, has been a crucial member of PRC’s team, serving as both Policy Counsel and Associate Director. Meghan has a deep knowledge of California, federal and international privacy law, and is an effective leader and collaborator. Working alongside Beth, she has raised awareness of privacy issues, provided valuable information to the public, and advocated for strong privacy protections. She is committed to building upon our proud legacy and working to ensure that individuals are empowered to protect their privacy. We look forward to Meghan leading PRC to new heights.
